Developing Effective Fractions Instruction for K-8

This Doing What Works website contains information and resources to help K-8 educators provide effective fractions instruction including basic concepts, fractions as numbers, operations, and proportional thinking. The site outlines four research-based recommended practices using video overviews and interviews with experts and successful K-12 teachers. It addresses teachers' understanding of fractions concepts and procedures. The site includes sample teaching materials, downloadable tools and templates to plan for school improvement, and a link to a companion Practice Guide (cataloged separately).
