Dig It

In this game students must create a fraction from a set of digits and then estimate its location on a number line. Students play against the computer or, with free registration, against an opponent. The object is to indicate where an excavator digs for gems and thus earn points. Additional information for educators and parents and instructions for the game are included.

    • I would definitely recommend playing this game at least once before introducing it to your students. It is a great way to get students to practice placing fractions on a numberline, but it also deals with improper fractions and requires some discussion.
