Discovering Perimeter And Area

This 3-lesson unit focuses students on the interplay of the measurements perimeter and area. Lesson 1 gives examples of perimeter for a general polygon. Lesson 2 emphasizes the independence of each measure, and Lesson 3 has students layout a bedroom, calculating the measures overall and of the components. The unit includes six student resource sheets, including a summative assessment, and answer keys.
