Let the Probability Games Begin

This collection of eight learning activities can be utilized with 1st or 2nd grade students to promote the practice of data collection through games and to introduce the concepts of probability through discussion about predictions and likelihood. Each of the eight activities has a list of materials and a worksheet attached that can be utilized to explain and complete each task.

- 10. Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.[2]

- I love any chance to have students learn while playing games. Many of these games can be played simultaneously as centers; you can set your classroom up at a Probability Carnival and students will have a great time while learning (and moving).
