Resources and Tools for Elementary Math Specialists and Teachers

This article from the NCTM journal Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, proposes a model for effectively using student responses in whole-class discussions. It has the potential to make teaching with high-level tasks more manageable for teachers and increase the likelihood that the demands of high-level tasks will be maintained during instruction. Although the article is written for middle school teachers, those teaching upper elementary grades will find the suggestions helpful.
